The United Nations University (UNU) is an international community of scholars, engaged in research, postgraduate teaching and capacity development, and the dissemination of knowledge in furthering the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. At the moment, a position as Associate Academic Officer: Water, Energy and Food Nexus shall be filled.


Under the authority of the Vice-Rector in Europe and Director of UNU-EHS and the direct supervision of PACET head of section, the successful candidate will be entrusted with the following tasks (amongst others):

  • coordinating PACET’s activities and projects on water in the frame of the Water, Energy and Food (WEF) Nexus in the context of climate change and strengthening the research profile and scientific outputs of the program
  • developing and strengthening PACET’s activities on institutional and technical capacity building of countries in the Global South in UNFCCC reporting processes, climate actions, and regional agendas i.e. Agenda 2063 of the African Union

Das BBK hat derzeit eine Stelle zu vergeben. Zu den Tätigkeiten gehört die Mitwirkung bei der Operationalisierungskonzeption „Lagebild Bevölkerungsverhalten“ zur Berücksichtigung von gesellschaftswissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen zum Bevölkerungsverhalten in Krisen und Katastrophen für ein effektives staatliches Krisenmanagement.

Mountain ecosystems are among the most sensitive to global warming, increasing climate variability, related hazardous processes, and resulting impacts and future risks.


  • Contribute to a better understanding of the dynamic and complex interconnections between hazards, underlying vulnerabilities, disaster management, and resulting impacts and risks in mountains.
  • Present insights on how to improve disaster management across the entire cycle from prevention to recovery.
